Accessibility Statement

We are excited to inform you about our ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and inclusivity within the City of Craig. As part of our commitment to ensuring that all members of our community can access important information and services, we are taking proactive steps to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Measures to support accessibility

To achieve this goal, we are implementing several tools and technologies. One of these tools is the WAVE browser extension, which allows us to evaluate the accessibility of our website in real-time. This tool helps us identify and address accessibility barriers, ensuring that our online presence is more inclusive and user-friendly for everyone.

Additionally, we are leveraging Adobe’s suite of tools to ensure that our PDF forms meet WCAG standards. Adobe Acrobat Pro provides robust features that enable us to create accessible PDF documents, including text-to-speech capabilities, document tagging, and more. These tools are essential in making our forms accessible to individuals with various disabilities, including visual impairments.

City of Craig takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of cityofcraig.org:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.

  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.

  • Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.

  • Appoint an accessibility officer and/or ombudsperson.

  • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.

  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.

  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.

By incorporating these tools into our workflows, we aim to make significant strides toward achieving WCAG compliance across our digital platforms. Our ultimate goal is to provide a seamless and accessible experience for all residents and visitors navigating our website and accessing city services online.
